Hann var lengi formaður og fiskinn vel, enda hinn mesti fullhugi og sókndjarfur. &lt;br&gt;<br /> Hann hefir komið mjög við sögu bæjarmálanna hin síðari ár og barist ótrauður í flokki sjálfstæðismanna, fylginn sér um málefni, stefnuna og tekið virkan þátt í verklegum framkvæmdum bæjarins. &lt;br&gt;<br /> Hann rekur verslun og útgerð í stórum stíl og skipasmíðastöð.&lt;br&gt;<br /> Ársæll var prýðis góður veiðimaður og þekktur fyrir góðveiðar í [[Siggafles]]i í [[Álsey]], sló svo fast upp og hart að allt lék á reiðiskjálfi. En hann veiddi þarna vel og hafði yndi af staðnum.
