Hún fór í fóstur til Sigurveigar Sigurðardóttur húsfreyju og Jóns Brynjólfssonar bónda á Þykkvabæjarklaustri í Álftaveri 1908, var síðar vinnukona þar.&lt;br&gt;<br /> Hún fluttist til Eyja 1929, hóf nám í hárgreiðslu hjá frú Kristólínu Kragh 1934 og lauk sveinsprófi þaðan 1937. Starfaði hún hjá frú Kragh til 1942, en starfrækti síðan hárgreiðslustofu undir því nafni, ásamt Helgu Sigurðardóttur til 1953.&lt;br&gt;<br /> Hún flutti á hjúkrunarheimilið Klausturhóla á Kirkjubæjarklaustri 1995.
